How SoltPK Came to Be — and Why It Was Needed
Before SoltPK launched, Pakistani players who wanted to bet on cricket or play card games online had two bad choices: use a foreign platform that did not accept PKR, required a Visa card they might not have and took days to process a withdrawal, or use some informal local arrangement with no guarantees, no transparency and no recourse if something went wrong. Neither option was good enough for a market of 230 million people with a genuine passion for cricket, card games, Ludo and increasingly esports.
SoltPK was founded by a team that had lived this frustration personally. The founding members — a mix of software engineers, product designers and sports betting professionals — spent over a year researching what Pakistani players actually needed before writing a single line of code. The answer turned out to be surprisingly specific: local payment methods above everything else, PSL and cricket coverage as the anchor product, Urdu language support in customer service, and a mobile experience fast enough to keep up with live match odds on a standard 4G connection.
When SoltPK launched, the initial focus was on cricket betting — specifically PSL, Pakistan's home competition that generates more discussion in cities like Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Peshawar than almost any other sporting event. The platform covered every match with pre-game and live in-play odds, settled bets within minutes of the final ball and paid out to Easypaisa and JazzCash accounts automatically. Word spread quickly through WhatsApp groups and cricket fan communities, and the player base grew faster than the team had anticipated.
From cricket, SoltPK expanded into card games — Teen Patti being the natural choice given its deep cultural roots in South Asia — followed by Ludo, which has seen a remarkable revival as a digital multiplayer game among young Pakistanis. Esports came next, driven by the massive PUBG Mobile and Free Fire communities in Pakistani cities and by requests from university-age players who wanted to bet on CS2 and Valorant tournaments the same way their peers were watching and discussing them.
Throughout all of this growth, SoltPK has maintained a clear principle: every product decision must make sense for a Pakistani player using a mid-range Android phone on a JazzCash account in Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad or Quetta. That geographic and demographic specificity is not a limitation — it is the whole point. SoltPK is not trying to be a global platform with a Pakistan section buried in a menu. Today SoltPK serves players across all major cities and a growing number of smaller cities and towns, processes thousands of transactions daily in PKR and maintains one of the lowest average withdrawal times in the regional market.
